Max Kothari Appointed Chair of Boston Fed New England Advisory Council

Boston Fed New England Advisory Council member Max Kothari, owner of Express Kitchens in Hartford, gives Boston Fed President Susan M. Collins a tour of his company's showroom and warehouse.

We are proud to share that our Hartford Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, Max Kothari, owner of Express Kitchens in Hartford, has been appointed Chair of the New England Advisory Council (NEAC) for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

The NEAC is comprised of small- to mid-sized business leaders from across New England who provide critical, real-time insights on regional economic conditions to Federal Reserve policymakers. Members share their perspectives on business trends, labor markets, capital access, and more—insights that directly inform the Fed’s work to promote economic stability and maximum employment.

Max has served on the Council since 2021 and now steps into this leadership role, taking over from outgoing chair Kierston Van Soest, CFO and Treasurer of L.L. Bean, Inc. In his new role, Max will help guide the Council’s discussions and serve as a key voice representing the business community across Connecticut and the broader New England region.

Max recently welcomed Boston Fed President Susan M. Collins to Hartford, giving her a tour of his company’s showroom and warehouse. We are proud to see one of Hartford’s own recognized for his leadership and vision at such a high level.

Please join us in congratulating Max on this well-deserved honor!
