Annual Halloween-themed Vendor Fair Returns to Downtown Hartford with Second Date Added in May

Hartford, CT – April 15, 2026 – Hartford.com and the Hartford Business Improvement District are once again welcoming the Halloween season early to downtown Hartford this year with the return of their popular outdoor, Halloween and horror-themed vendor fair, Bizarre Bazaar. This year attendees will have two opportunities to shop the eerie and macabre.

The first Bizarre Bazaar will take place on Saturday, May 16 on State House Square Plaza in downtown Hartford from 12-4 pm. The Bizarre Bazaar will feature local artists, crafters, and artisans specializing in original creations befitting the “spooky season” as well as special vendors and food trucks. Happening next door, at the same time as Bizarre Bazaar, will be the 230th Birthday Party for Connecticut’s Old State House, which will include vendors, live music, and a special commemorative birthday cake.

“We love being able to work with so many talented, local artists and crafters who make a wide array of unique items that fans of Halloween, horror, and general spookiness can enjoy”, said Chip McCabe, Director of Placemaking & Events for the Hartford BID. “This is an event designed for and by people who celebrate ‘spooky season’ year round.”
