DoorDash, MetroHartford Alliance/Hartford Chamber of Commerce, and City of Hartford Bring Together Entrepreneurs For Local Business Workshop
Hartford, CT (May 12, 2026) — DoorDash, MetroHartford Alliance/Hartford Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hartford today hosted a Local Business Workshop on May 12, bringing together entrepreneurs from 18 local businesses for a day of hands-on training.
At the Workshop, participants received hands-on training on DoorDash tools and advertising, education on AI-powered business solutions, and received DoorDash ad credits to put what they learned into action immediately.
“Today’s Workshop was an important opportunity to connect Hartford’s small business owners with the resources they need to succeed,” said Julio Concepción, Executive Director of the Hartford Chamber of Commerce. “We’re proud to work alongside DoorDash and the City of Hartford to support our local business community.”
Hartford's small business owners are the backbone of our local economy, and they deserve a city that's working to make their lives easier, not harder,” said Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam. “That means more than just talking about it — it means removing the barriers that get in the way. Today’s Workshop helped ensure that Hartford’s entrepreneurs have the support and opportunities they need to thrive.”
“Hartford's small business owners didn't open their doors to spend their time buried in paperwork — they did it to serve their neighbors and build something lasting,” said Daniela Michanie, Head of New England Public Engagement for DoorDash. “ It was incredible to see so many local business owners come together for this Workshop. By partnering with MetroHartford Alliance and Hartford city leaders, we’re helping ensure local businesses have access to the tools, resources, and networks they need to grow.”
“Running a small business can be overwhelming, but today gave me clarity and confidence. I’m leaving with new ideas, new connections, and a clear plan to grow,” said Trevor Drummond owner of Flourish. “This Workshop made me feel more supported as a small business owner and more confident about growing in Hartford.”
Today’s event builds on DoorDash’s Accelerator for Local Businesses which has supported more than 400 small businesses nationwide since 2021.
