There are so many #HartfordUnsungHeroes working day and night to keep our great city going, we wish to highlight them in the coming weeks on the Chamber platforms. If you know of a Hartford Unsung Hero, please post and tag the Chamber and use #HartfordUnsungHeroes.

Meet Edgardo Zayas, Security Ambassador, Hartford Business Improvement District

What do you love most about your job?

EDGARDO ZAYAS: What I love about working for the Hartford Business Improvement District is helping the people who come to our district to get to their destinations.

How does it make you feel to support Hartford during this trying time?

EDGARDO: At the beginning of this crisis, I was a little scared about everything going on. But, at the same time, I wanted to help. So, we came back to work and we started wiping down trash receptacles, parking meters, crossing signs, doorways, doors handles, and railings to make people feel safe in our district. This made me feel better that I was making a difference.

What’s the first thing you’re going to do when social distancing ends?

EDGARDO: The first thing I’m going to do when social distancing is over is I’m going to visit my family in New York City.
