Transactional Law Clinic Launches at UConn Law School

UConn Law School is proud to introduce the new Transactional Law Clinic (TLC) at the University of Connecticut School of Law, which will launch this Fall semester. Law students enrolled in the TLC will provide pro bono, transactional legal services to the Hartford community under the supervision of licensed attorneys.

The TLC represents small businesses and entrepreneurs, non-profits and community development organizations, and creatives and professionals, such as authors, artists, musicians, and student and professional athletes in Hartford and surrounding areas. The transactional legal services provided include, but are not limited to:

  • Business Formation

  • Bylaws or Operating Agreements

  • Permits and Licenses

  • Corporate Governance/Board Training

  • Contract Drafting, Negotiating, or Review

  • Copyright or Trademark

  • Nonprofit Formation

  • Employee Issues

  • Tax-Exempt Application

  • Pre-Venture Counseling to Founders

  • Regulatory Compliance or Risk Management

Chamber members and Hartford business owners are encouraged to participate by visiting their website or filling out the Request for Legal Services Form, also on the website. The TLC is also available for community presentations or workshops.
